Summary Experience
Emefa completed the Post Call Law Course at the Ghana School of Law and is called to the Ghana Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana. She also attended The Gambia Law School and is called to the Gambian Bar.
Emefa obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Hons) from Wisconsin International University College, Ghana and a high honors Criminal Justice degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey where she was also a recipient of the prestigious James Dickson Carr Scholarship for talented students.
Emefa is part of the firm’s compliance, corporate governance, risk management and litigation team.
She has over 15 years’ working experience in legal, debt recovery, human resources, company secretarial and compliance fields.
Before relocating to Ghana in 2012, Emefa was one of the lead advisors assisting lawyers at a foreclosure firm in New Jersey with training and foreclosure debt recovery for a couple of banks which included JP Morgan Chase Bank, Bank of America, Citi Bank and Wells Fargo. She assisted lawyers in advising the Banks on best mortgage lending strategies and debt recovery in accordance with State of New Jersey regulations.
She also oversaw a team of foreclosure specialist and was a part of the training team, where she drafted and implemented training manuals and provided guidance to recovery specialists.
Having a passion to nurture young people, Emefa has been engaged in many efforts to help young people struggling with varied addicts, abuse, delinquency and poverty. She was part of a team which establishment over 10 youth outreach centers and trained many volunteers to oversee youth programs.
She has completed the Post Call programme at the Ghana School of Law and is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana. After her mandatory pupillage with the firm, she is now Lead Associate for the Restructuring, Insolvency and Recoveries practice area group.
